Welcome to the Wednesday Fellowship. We meet every Wednesday, apart from when we go on holiday or outings, during August and two weeks at Christmas. People start arriving from 1.00pm onwards, usually those who are brought on Dial-a-Ride, and we serve tea and biscuits from around 1.30pm.

The meeting is from 2.00pm to 3.00pm and is held in a traditional style with a different guest speaker each week. We invite pastors and members of local churches, including our own Pastor, David Wise, to speak on the Bible and other items of interest and we also have singers and musicians who come to perform within a Christian theme. We invite people to come and speak about the charities they represent, like Global Care or The Baptist Missionary Society and they give us an update on what is happening in the world. Our Fellowship gives to various Christian charities.
We read out articles of interest to our mainly older people and hold occasional film or slide shows, quizzes and also invite people to come to entertain us; so each week is different. We have an anniversary tea each March, a summer party in August and a Christmas meal in December and usually around 80 people attend. We also hold several garden parties during August.
We go on two or three outings each year and one main holiday (we are going to Torquay in 2009) and need five Ealing Community Transport minibuses to take everyone out, as we usually have about 60 people on these trips.
There are over 80 people in our membership – approx 55 – 60 of whom attend each week. Because of the age of our members, some are now house-bound and members of the group also visit those who cannot get out or who are ill.
Our members come from many local churches, Greenford Baptist, Greenford Methodist, The Salvation Army, Greenford Gospel, Holy Cross, Visitation Catholic Church, Southall Baptist, Oldfield Lane Baptist, Greek Orthodox Church, St. Mary’s, Hanwell, Ruislip Baptist, Ealing Christian Centre, Northolt Park Baptist and some other churches. Some members do not go to any other church and call the Wednesday Fellowship their church.
Our aim is to provide an interesting, relevant weekly meeting where God can be glorified, in loving fellowship with other Christians and where we can support one another.
